The PulseGuard "Pedigree" -
A third of a century specializing in smoothing flow fluctuations and dampening pressure pulsation.
In 1962, a company was formed by the name of Compact Hydraulics Ltd. By '65 it was in partnership with Hydrotrole Ltd. From this fertile partnership sprang many activities, one activity was a specialty department making pulsation dampers. In '78, that department was set up in the USA on its own, by the name of FlowChem Inc. When in 1980, Hydrotrole Ltd ceased trading, the assets of FlowChem specializing in Pulse Dampeners, were sold to Liquid Dynamics Inc. of Florida who also took over Compact Hydraulics Ltd, and changed their name to Liquid Dynamics. This is now Liquid Dynamics International Ltd. aka "LDi" .
"LDi" then spun off the Pulse Damper activities as PulseGuard Ltd and PulseGuard Inc. PulseGuard is owned by Di Bebb, who as CEO, ran Compact Hydraulics Ltd, the moldings company MembranoFlex Ltd, and Liquid Dynamics for 20 years.
The directors of PulseGuard are Diane Bebb and Sarah Marshall. The products they offer are under a technology license from M. Packer, (the original 1963 licensor to Hydrotrole Ltd,) who also acts as their company secretary.
PulseGuard offers three classifications of damper: a). with Elastomeric membranes, of 3 sub types b). with LDi FlexFlon, PTFE, EIDP Teflon, etc c). with no moving parts.
Sarah's experience is in international out-sourcing of manufacture, and its quality control. Sarah's training was at PulseGuard Inc. There is no more experienced team in the Damper business, making pulsation equipment for 30 some years, -- from $47 to $35,000 -- with pressures from 85 psi to 15,000 psi, -- for pipe systems from 1/8" through 18" diameter, -- in many materials.
The purpose of this web site is to enable you to select any one of 200+ pulse dampners from off the shelf inventory, at the best internet prices. |

Where secondary containment and multi layer FLEXFLON PTFE are not necessary, then for flow fluctuation removal and an elastomer membrane a link to the PIPEGUARD weights and dimensions specifications list is provided. Where the need is pressure pulsation reduction and flow fluctuation smoothness then the elastomer bladder flow through HIPEHUGGER is your choice. Injection systems have the decompression shock removed by flow through interceptors, a link to the duplex (2205, F-51, UNS S31803) and super duplex (2507, UNS S32750) all stainless PIPEGUARD high pressure and super pressure range weights and dimensions specifications page is provided. Quintuplex and septuplex pumps, bottom left, use a no foam, no gas bag, no moving parts, spherical flow through damper. The flow fluctuation volume is small, the frequency is high. Pressure wave interception is what you need more than volume compensation. Dosing pumps use in place flush able dampeners. A print out of the site map will show you all your options and which one to take. Liquid in the bladder, cushion gas in the shell. Large diameter ratio to connection diameter kills the pressure waves. Low pressure and flow through types too, stop suction side negative pressure waves from breaking the supply column into slugs. No moving parts pressure pulse interceptors, cause the pressure transients to have to take multiple flow paths. A pulsation damper will help with your pulsation dampening, cause pulse dampners, deter pump pulsation, flow fluctuation, pressure pulsation, flow smoothing. Pulsation damping with a pulse dampener have a pulse damping or pulse dampening way of using any of the following: a pulse damper, pulse damper, pulse dampers, cavitation damper, cavitation dampers, cavitation damper, cavitation dampers, flow fluctuation reduction, flow fluctuation reducers, acoustic attenuators, pulsation attenuators, pulse attenuation, pulse attenuators, reduce acceleration head loss, acceleration head loss preventors, acceleration head loss reduction, cavitation dampener. The transients have their base time stretched and the pressure amplitude falls . Prevent amplification and resonance. Dampers with Flexflon modified PTFE diaphragms have 4 times the permeability life of prior designs and cost half the price. Gas in the bag type flow fluctuation reducers act as an accumulator of the peak flow and deliver their stored volume back to the system when the flow velocity otherwise falls. All stainless 316 or duplex stainless & super duplex (2507, UNS S32750) models available to 30,000psi. Clear flow flex tube type for slurries Centrifugal pumps need protection against pipe system startup surge generation. Use your PulseGuard, pulse dampner.

Selecting Pulsation Dampers for Different Pump Systems
Flow through pulse dampeners are at least 3 times more efficient than T off line accumulators.
Dampers that do, flow goes through, but pressure pulsation does not.
